50165 miles - PJ Grady 2/96
My first DeLorean Service
After having signed the paperwork and handed over the check, my first stop was PJ Grady's
in West Sayville, LI, NY. I wanted to start things out right. Besides, I was close.
Oil, filter change and lube.
Brakes: The previous owner said it would need brake work soon. Rotors turned,
pads replaced all 'round. No time like the present.
Coolant bottle: I'd read enough
about the plastic one breaking that I wanted this done ASAP. Replaced the perfectly good
plastic one with a stainless one. Just in case.
Front license plate mounting
bracket: There was none on the car. Apparently the previous owners drove with only a
rear plate. Grady supplied a nice stainless one that required NO HOLES to be drilled
in my pride and joy. This was not the first car I've owned with no place for the front
plate. Look carefully at the pictures of my 1972 OTAS.
Grady's place is a treat. It's
like you died & went to DeLorean heaven. There seemed to be over 20 or so of
them in one shape or another. The office is nice, too. DeLorean photos on the
wall and a 1918 picture of the PJ Grady Chevrolet dealership that occupied the same
building!
